Adoptions & Guardianship Services

If you are considering adopting a child, Larry Pearman is here to help. Adoption is the process of establishing a parent-child relationship under the law where an individual, other than the birth parent, takes responsibility for a child's physical, material, and emotional well-being. Larry Pearman can help you begin the adoption process and continue assisting you through to the finalization of the adoption with the court.

Different from adoptions are guardianships, a method of obtaining legal custody of or decision-making authority over another person. It’s common when families wish to care for and protect the rights of a minor, disabled adult child, elderly person, or mentally or physically incapacitated individual not biologically related to them but in their care.

Larry Pearman has more than 30 years’ experience helping clients with adoptions and guardianships. We’d love to put our experience to work for you!

Did You Know?
Did you know that there are two main types of adoptions? In a closed adoption, the biological parents (birth mother and father) remain anonymous and do not interact with the child after he or she is adopted.   In an open adoption, the biological parents and adopting parents are on public records and the biological parents may, if all parties agree, have an ongoing relationship with the child and the adoptive parents.
